Goal: To nourish self-reflection and stress reduction by offering relaxation structures to MN residents.
In 2013, Jess opened the doorway to (Gregg) Fleishman structures in Minnesota with the first nodal pyramid placed at Harmony Park for Project Earth. Created from prototype nodes for the Burning Man Temple of Whollyness 2013, the pyramid brought a piece of the Nevada festival into the local MN community. Gregg himself made the journey from CA to MN in June 2013 to partake in Project Earth festivities and to build this structure for the community. Piano Bart graciously helped find funding for this collaboration.
Summer 2014 marked the creation of a mini-pyramid made by Jess and her mom out of these same Temple prototype nodes with struts fashioned from scrap lumber off a Habitat for Humanity site in North Omaha. This pyramid moved from North Omaha to Minneapolis Fall 2014 where she remained in an urban loft for 6 months sharing triangular social space with Jess and loft residents.
In June 2015 came a Burning Man-related event in Minnesota called That Thing At The Cabin (TTATC). Here the pyramid met another Midwestern crowd who enjoyed and marveled at her construction, with hammock chair swing interior. After spending two years in Minnesota the Temple node prototypes decided that it was time to join in the Temple transformation ritual and asked to be placed within TTATC's festival effigy ceremony at the end of the event. Pre-ceremony, a late evening thunderstorm gave festival participants a few more hours to contemplate their year-end resolutions and soon after 2 AM the five visiting nodes made their way through the flames of TTATC's temple burn to join their BM Temple counterparts in ash.
August 2015 celebrated the establishment of the first Fleishman modular orb to set roots in Minnesota. As part of Jess's Happy Heart Collective project, the orb will travel to communities of Minnesota inspiring self-reflection, stress reduction, and personal connectivity. The orb's first one-month placement in October 2015 was in St.Paul's Frogtown Community Monarch Garden, and Happy Heart Collective recently applied for a grant to join in Minneapolis's Northern Spark overnight art and climate change awareness festival in June 2016.
Thank you to Gregg Fleishman for his ongoing support of the arts, community, and modular relaxation structures!
